May has arrived and the Ladybugs couldn’t be more excited about the blooming flowers and warming of the weather! There is much to celebrate for this month! This month we celebrate Mother’s Day, a special day reserved in the year to celebrate and honor motherhood, all mothers, and for all that they do.
The Ladybugs will also be learning about Cinco De Mayo, a day observed to commemorate the victory and heroism for the people of Mexico.
This month, we also mark an important day – Memorial Day – a day we remember and honor our brave veterans who have sacrificed much for our country. (In honor of our heroes we will commemorate their memory by setting off some of our very own patriotic shaving cream fireworks!)
Our friends will be crafting, watching educational videos, and reading books about the history and traditions of these important holidays.
As you know, we normally hold our annual Art Appreciation Exhibition every May – however, this year, our OMS artists are going virtual! Art plays an important role in our culture and society.
We will continue to learn about the various artists throughout history that have made a forever impact on the world with their powerful work in the past, present, and future. The Ladybugs are excited to get in touch with their artistic ability and presenting their expression through their work of art!
