Bring out the backyard splash pad, we are ready for June! Summer is here, and our Ladybug and Honeybee scholars are gearing up to finish the school year strong! Of course, this is the perfect time to learn all about the sunny and hot season that is summer!
This month we celebrate Father’s Day, a special day reserved to celebrate and honor fatherhood, all fathers, and all that they do. The Ladybugs and Honeybees will also be learning about Flag Day, and we will be studying the history and significance of the American flag. Along with watching videos and reading books about these holidays, we will be crafting our own flags to stand proudly outside of our homes (to raise at sunrise and lower at sundown).
This month we also learn about the importance of respecting and preserving nature. When caring for the Earth, it is also vital that we care for the inhabitants of the planet we live on. Plants, animals, and humans – we are all interconnected. Mother Nature has much to offer us, and we must kindly give back to ensure preservation for many generations to come. In addition, we will also be learning about endangered species and why it is so important to protect them.
Lastly, after our exploration of many continents this year, we arrive at our final destination of Asia! Our Ladybug and Honeybee friends are excited to expand our knowledge about the largest and most diverse continent in the world!
It has been a challenging school year of unforeseen obstacles and adjustments to learning; however, our students’ striving for knowledge continues on. I want to thank all of you for being so helpful in navigating your children through this unprecedented learning process. We have all grown so much wiser and more confident in this new method of teaching and learning and look forward to whatever the next school year will entail. Thank you again!
