As we draw closer to the end of the school year, we are busy wrapping up our class curriculum. We are confident that all students are well equipped for the next grade level.
The month of June will start off with our virtual Art Exhibition. Our budding artists will proudly show off their creativity and inspire you with their interpretations of some well-known artists. Frida Kahlo’s self- portrait, Pablo Picasso’s cubism, Mary Blair’s castle pieces, and Romero Britto’s bold and colorful art paintings are what our students did. Make sure not to miss this wonderful virtual event.
We will continue our lessons in language, reviewing the parts of speech and working on writing prompts as well as the last reading literature assignment–a biography. They will write a biography about a person of their choice and will do an oral report. In math, we will focus on the four operations, word problems, and rounding numbers. We are done with our geography reports but will conclude by reviewing important facts of Asian countries and the 50 states. Studies of carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores will continue for zoology. Comparisons of primitive and modern man in terms of food, clothing, and shelter will be reviewed for history.
We are almost at the finish line, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, dear parents, for your continuous support and dedication in navigating your child’s daily activities in this very trying situation. And of course, to our hard-working students who never ceased to amaze me in their quest for learning new things: thank you for your desire to learn!
A big shout out to our awesome OMS fathers as they celebrate their special day: Happy Father’s Day, you are your child’s hero.
