Dear Parents,
I can’t believe we are in June; what an amazing roller coaster of a year! This month was so much fun, and I feel so lucky to have you on my team! The children continue to stay healthy and happy and are thriving. I am in disbelief when I see their amazing work.
So we are at the end but not finished. Our June curriculum is packed with some fantastic learning activities. The children have grown so much and are ready to move on. For Social Studies we will focus on self-awareness by taking a look back at this fantastic year. T.K.’s will look at physical, academic, and social/emotional growth while kindergarteners reflect on memories, milestones, and their future beyond kindergarten. Kindergarteners will track their year in a keepsake book, reviewing this amazing year of growth and discovery. These children have challenged themselves and proven that every time the bar is raised, they are more than able to hurdle it! Get ready to shed some tears as you go down memory lane with them.
Father’s Day celebrations, Flag Day lessons, and preparing for the end of the year will give us many opportunities for fun projects and activities to keep our hands, bodies, and minds busy. Our cultural arts activities also provide for more discovery: for geography we will review the continents and landmarks and do some map work to keep us sharp; botany will give us a great opportunity to learn about healing plants as well as to do some fun sensory activities and projects; for zoology we will finish with studies on parts of the horse and the human body; geometry will give us an opportunity to see how important it is in everyday life …whew, and then we will be off to summer!!!!
Everyone continues to show great improvement in math, reading, and writing. The work packets will continue to provide challenging work as they get ready to move on. Thank you to everyone who has sent video reading samples of your children as well as letter/number recognition and math work. I am currently getting ready for parent/teacher conferences via Zoom (keep an eye out for scheduling at the end of the month).
Finally, thank you, everyone who contributed beautiful artwork for our Art Exhibit. What a breathtaking collection of creativity!
Moms and dads, thank you for the opportunity you’ve bestowed on me. Teaching your little ones this school year was an experience I will never forget. I accepted the challenge and learned alongside them and have achieved much more than I thought I could! Thank you for your support and cooperation. I couldn’t have done it without you!
Let’s finish this year with a bang!
Ms Audrey
